Various Delegations Call on LG Ladakh, Raise Key Public Welfare Concerns

Leh, December 26, 2025: Various delegations met the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, at the LG Secretariat today and apprised him of their concerns related to youth welfare, education, health, sports, employment, and veterans’ welfare.

A delegation of STL doctors from Leh district submitted a representation regarding an alleged discrepancy in NEET PG (Medical) state counselling under the UT Ladakh reservation quota. They urged the Lt Governor to ensure strict implementation of the reservation policy as per merit so that STL candidates are treated fairly in the upcoming third round of counselling.

In another interaction, a delegation led by noted cyclist Leakzes Angmo called on the Lt Governor and proposed the establishment of a cycling training institute in Ladakh to nurture talent and produce professional cyclists from the region.

Similarly, a delegation of civil engineers aspiring for the gazetted post of Assistant Engineer met the Lt Governor and sought his intervention in service-related matters.

Ex-serviceman Dorje Tsering, who sustained injuries during the 1999 Kargil War, also met the Lt Governor and requested the grant of battle casualty benefits.

The Hon’ble Lt Governor reaffirmed that the UT Administration is committed to the welfare and empowerment of youth, sportspersons, professionals, and ex-servicemen. He assured that all genuine grievances will be addressed within the framework of rules and policies, ensuring fairness, transparency, and timely action so that the benefits of government initiatives reach the people effectively.
