Various delegations from Kargil call on Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra

 

Kargil, Dec 14: Several delegations called on Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Niwas, Kargil on Wednesday on the fourth day of his visit to Kargil.

 

The Hon’ble Lt. Governor was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse, Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhary and Joint Director Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho.

 

While replying to the issue raised by contractual teachers of Army Goodwill School, Faroona regarding the delay in release of salaries and increments, Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the Commanding Officer, 6th Garhwal Chanigund, Col. Nitin Kalade to look into the matter. Further, he directed the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to do the needful in respect of the black-topping issue of the school’s road.

 

The delegation led by Councillor, LAHDC, Bhimbat Constituency, Abdul Wahid apprised the Hon’ble Lt. Governor about various issues which included the infrastructural development of Shaheed Saurabh Kalia Stadium in Kaksar, installation of stoppers to counter the snow avalanches in Kharbu village, construction of cricket stadium in Bhimbat Constituency and mobile phone connectivity. In the context of the issue regarding Shaheed Saurabh Kalia Stadium and the cricket stadium in the constituency, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the DC/CEO,LAHDC, Kargil to get a Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared for Shaheed Saurabh Kalia Stadium and that the possibility of another cricket stadium in the constituency be explored.

 

He also assured that the needful will be done regarding the mobile phone connectivity issue.

In respect of the issue regarding the enhancement of honorarium of Numberdars of Kargil District, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to recommend the same to the Principal Secretary, Revenue Department.

 

While replying to the issue regarding identification of land for the Press Club of Kargil, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to look into the matter.

 

In respect of the issue regarding the demand of enhancement of wages raised by the delegation of Volunteer Home Guards, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed that the matter be taken up with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 

The delegation from Sando village raised the issue regarding need for repairing the inner walls of the Shashi Lake. In this regard, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil to review the DPR for the same and revise it if required.

 

While replying to the issue raised by the contractual Technical Assistants of MGNEGA, working in the Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department of Kargil, regarding enhancement of their remuneration, Hon’ble Lt. Governor said that the UT Administration will look into the matter.

 

The delegation of Multi-Purpose Health Workers (MPHW) of Health Department sought the Hon’ble Lt. Governor’s intervention in releasing remuneration to them at par with Community Health Officers for registration of births. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor spoke to the Managing Director, NHM, Ladakh and directed him to take swift action in the matter.

 

The delegation of contractual lecturers of School Education Department sought early recruitment against posts of Lecturer. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor informed them that the formulation of Recruitment Rules (RR) is already in process.

 

While replying on the issue regarding age criteria in the RRs for the gazetted posts of Lecturers in Polytechnic Colleges, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the concerned to look into the matter.

 

The Hon’ble Lt. Governor interacted with various other delegations who had come from across the district including SPOs of Police Department, social activists, daily wagers of Power Development Department and others. He gave a patient hearing to all their issue and assured that the needful will be done as per norms.
