2-day training for L3 functionaries of Zanskar on JJM concludes
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 17, 2022:
The 3rd phase of two-day training for the L3 functionaries (PRIS and VWSCs) of Zanskar sub-division on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) conducted by We The People-Key Resource Centre under National JJM from September 14 to 15 concluded at Conference Hall, Padum Zanskar.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Kargil Santosh Sukhdeve emphasized on water conservation, grey water management, judicious use of water, community participation in JJM for successful implementation of JJM.
The training was held in partnership with National JJM, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt. of India, Union Territory of Ladakh, PHED Ladakh and the District Administration Kargil. In the training, 45 participants including BDCs, Sarpanches, Naib Sarpanches, Panches and VWSC members of 3-Blocks of Zanskar participated.
Asaq Mir Chief Engineer PHED and Additional Mission Director JJM UT Ladakh made the opening remarks and provided insight on the progress made on JJM achieving 100 percent Functional Household Tap Connections in UT and appreciated the partnership between PRIS and PHED of UT Ladakh.
Chief Planning Officer, Abdul Hadi, Executive Engineer, PHED Zanskar Sub Division Kacho Mumtaz addressed the participants during the training and discussed the issues and challenges faced by the Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) in ensuring ‘Har Ghar Nal Jal’ in their respective villages. Ajaya Mohapatra, CEO, We The People facilitated the training along with other national resource persons.
It was decided by PHED Zanskar Sub Division to start a water testing laboratory by October 15 and training on water testing quality of the VWSC nominated members shall be completed by September 30.
The training mainly covered three components on JJM including planning, implementation and post-implementation and phases.
