30 days training programme on skill development, opportunities in leather and allied products for SHG members of NRLM concludes in Kargil

 

KARGIL, AUGUST 23, 2021:  30 days training programme on skill development and opportunities in leather and allied products for SHG members of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) concluded at NRLM Training Centre Poyen here today.

 

The training programme was conducted by the Rural Development Department Ladakh and Department of Industries and Commerce Ladakh in collaboration with CSIR- Central Leather Research Institute Chennai wherein all SHGs associated with  tailoring units of Kargil and Sodh Block including those of villages Karkitchoo, Hardass, Chanigund, Minji and villages of Sodh Block participated.

 

 

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kargil Ghulam Muhammad was the chief guest during the valedictory session.

 

District Superintendent Handloom Department Kargil Haji Ansar Hussain besides other concerned officers, trainers and trainees were also present on the occasion.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the ACD Kargil said that in future the Rural Development Department will continue to work together with the trainees to impart skill training to 24 members of NRLM and Handloom SHGs.He further stated that the trained persons shall impart training to other members of SHGs of NRLM at Block Training Centre (BTC) Poyen.

 

Pertinently, during the course of the training programme, the resource persons from Central Lether Research Institute Chennai trained the SHG members about leather technology production and marketing within and outside the district and other related aspects.
