CEC Kargil Feroz Khan takes stock of progress achieved on construction of Kargil Boys Hostel at Channi Rama Jammu

KARGIL, NOVEMBER 15, 2021: Chairman  and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan took stock of the progress achieved on the construction of Kargil Boys Hostel at Channi Rama Jammu here today.

The concerned officers informed the CEC that construction on the library and roofing works of the project have been completed in a short period of time and the setting up of the library which was a long pending demand of students has already been completed, while the roofing works also stands completed.

CEC Khan said that to equip all major institutions with modern libraries is the desire of the LG Ladakh, adding he said that for purchase of required books for the boys hostel library in consultation with the concerned, provision of funds shall be kept in next year’s budget. He further said that the library will also be provided with high-speed internet connection and other allied facilities.

On the occasion, CEC Khan also inquired from the concerned officers about the ongoing works of Girls Hostel at Sidhra Jammu about which he was informed that 90 percent of the works have been completed.

The officers further said that the remaining works are going on in full swing, and the project is expected to be completed by March, 2022.

It was further given out that all facilities including library with high-speed internet connection, badminton court, handball court, canteen and other allied facilities will be made available at the Girls Hostel which has the capacity to accommodate nearly 200 girl students.

The CEC stressed officers concerned to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of all the remaining works by the first quarter of 2022, so that the hostel is made fully functional by the academic session 2022-2023.

Assistant Executive Engineer Mansoor Muhammad Nissar, Warden Kargil Boys Hostel Jammu Jehangir Ahmad besides other concerned officers and engineers accompanied the CEC during the visit.
