5th General Election of LAHDC Kargil concludes with counting of votes

 

Kargil, Oct 09, 2023: The 5th General Elections of LAHDC, Kargil concluded on Sunday with the culmination of counting of votes for all the 26 constituencies of the LAHDC-Kargil.

 

The whole election counting process conducted under the supervision of Election Authority (District Magistrate) Kargil, SP Kargil, Election Officer (ADC) Kargil, Magistrates and counting supervisors along with Returning Officers/Assistant Returning Officers of respective constituencies.

 

Jammu Kashmir National Conference came out as the single largest party by securing 12 seats, Indian National Congress bagged 10 seats, while Bharatiya Janta Party secured 02 seats and independent candidates bagged 02 seats.

 

The counting started early in morning at Counting Hall, Polytechnic College Kargil and all standard procedures, protocols were followed for smooth execution of the counting process throughout the day followed by the declaration of results for all the 26 constituencies.

 

The coordinated efforts of all concerned officials paved the way for a fair and transparent conduct of the 5th LAHDC Kargil elections.

 

Meanwhile, live updates of voting through web links were made available for the general public and regular relay of results was done through government and private media platforms to ensure a transparent election.

 

A special desk was created for all media personnel to cover counting process. The whole process was conducted under CCTV surveillance in presence of observers & micro observers.

 

Comprehensive measures were put in place to ensure law and order across district by Ladakh police under the supervision of SP Kargil.

 

The Election Authority congratulated all winning candidates and appreciated the cooperation extended by all voters, political parties, candidates, Ladakh Police, all polling & counting personnel, observers, transport stakeholders, senior officers of UT Administration and media for smooth conduct of counting and election process in a fair and transparent manner.
