ADC Kargil conducts one day tour to Shakar Chiktan

Kargil, May 30, 2023: The Additional Deputy Commissioner/Additional District Magistrate, Kargil Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani on Monday visited Pargue, a Mohalla of village Samrah of Tehsil Shakar Chiktan.

He was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shakar Chiktan, Mohd Sharif and Block Development Officer, Ali Akbar and inspected different developmental activities. PRI members, Lambardar and prominent villagers were present.

After Mohalla Pargue, ADC/ADM along with SDM, Tehsildar, BDO, ZEO, GOS and Patwari of village Kukshow visited one of the remotest area of Sub-Division namely Pachari of village Kukshow and held a Public Darbar, the villagers were overwhelmed and welcome the visited Officers/Officials.

It was told that the Mohalla has 17-18 families and almost all youth have left the Mohalla to earn their bread and butter along with kids and senior citizens and few middle-aged persons were in the Mohalla.

Villagers narrated their grievances before the ADC, including installation of tower, JJM water connection to be made functional in winter, chain-like fencing to their agriculture field, construction of link road to Broke and survey of main source water from Nindum site for irrigation purpose.

The ADC Kargil gave a patient hearing to their request and committed to full fill their demands and assured to take up with concerned quarter for redressal of some demands which are beyond his jurisdiction/capacity.

The ADC in consultation with SDM, Tehsildar and villagers decided to change the Polling Station from Old School building to new built Community Centre.

He directed BDO to construct ramp and put trass on roof of the building on priority. The BDO asked the villagers to identify site so that the work on construction of public lavatory is done under SBM Scheme at the earliest.

The ADC enquired from the villagers about availing of govt. schemes including PM-Kisan and directed SDM/Tehsildar to ensure enrollment of all these villagers in the scheme.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed happiness over the ongoing literacy for senior citizens, which the team witnessed at the site and encouraged the youth who are imparting basis of reading and writing to the senior citizens.
