NYK Kargil organizes District Level Yuva Utsav 2023

Kargil, May 30, 2023:

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kargil today organized District Level Yuva Utsav 2023 with the theme ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal’ under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at Indoor Stadium, Cultural Academy Hall and Auditorium Hall Kargil.

Executive Councilor, Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi was the chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani was the guest of honour on the occasion. Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Nazir Ahmad, District Youth Officer Kargil, Jigmat Spaldon besides other officials of NYK, judges, contesters, teachers and students also participated in the event.

In his speech, EC Tashi extended the call of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Panch Pran shall be widely circulated among the youth. The EC said that youth shall take the Panch Pran Pledge, while understanding the significance and committing themselves to contribute towards India’s growth story in making in the age of Amrit Kaal.

On the occasion, EC Tashi appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by the NYK Kargil that provides a platform to youngsters and extended his cooperation towards such nation-building events.

Talking about the era of information and technology, he said it is time to step towards a new direction with a new resolve.

He explained the five objectives of ‘Panch Pran’ which includes a resolve of developed India, removing any trace of the colonial mindset, taking pride in our legacy, our strength of unity and fulfilling the duties of citizens with honesty.

The Executive Councilor also talked about various milestones of the country including economic growth and the growth and development in education setup.

He said such programs represent the belongingness of youth with the country and projects the country’s cultural legacy. “We have to forward the objectives of ‘Panch Pran’ to other people and channelize the way of development in the country in a proper way,” he said.

EC Tashi congratulated participants and hoped that they will perform at national level in future. He urged NYK Kargil to provide a platform to students.

He also appreciated the contests that gave youth an opportunity to showcase their talent. He said LAHDC Kargil is committed to provide every kind of support to youth.

A total of five contests were held at three different locations of Kargil that include Declamation, Young Writing-Cum-Poetry, Mobile Photography, Culture and Painting.

In Declamation contest, Ummul Banin, Hakima Gulnaaz and Fatima Nissa bagged first, second and third positions respectively.

Similarly, in Young Writing-Cum-Poetry contest Yasmeen Akhter, Fatima Zehra and Mehrun Nissa bagged first second and third positions respectively.

In Mobile Photography contest, Khadim Hussain, Fatima Zehra and Irfan Peer bagged first second and third positions respectively.

In Cultural contest, Government Degree College Kargil, Stanzen Group and Higher Secondary School Pashkum bagged first second and third positions respectively.

Similarly, in the Painting contest Mohd Shakeel, Bilkeesa Bano and Syeda Batool bagged first second and third positions respectively.

Between the two sessions of the day long program at Auditorium Hall, participants voluntarily sang songs that enthralled the audiences.

Later, during the award distribution ceremony position holders of all contests and judges were rewarded with momentos. The program proceedings were conducted by Kaneez Fatima.
