Leh, June 21: The 8th International Day of Yoga themed ‘Yoga for Humanity’ was celebrated with great enthusiasm at all the sub-divisional headquarters of Leh district, such as Nubra, Khaltse, Nyoma, Likir, Kharu and Durbuk.
The event at each sub-division was headed by chief guests designated by the District Administration and the Sub-Divisional Magistrates were instructed to ensure the necessary arrangements for the same.
At Nubra sub-division the International Day of Yoga celebration was headed by Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk. At Khaltse sub-division, Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Sherab headed the yoga celebration. Similarly, at Likir, Councillor Saspol, Smanla Dorje Nurboo was the chief guest on the occasion. At Kharu, Councillor Sakti, Rigzin Tsering graced the yoga celebration and at Nyoma SDM, Jigmet Angchuk headed the event.
Besides, at all the sub divisional level SDMs, HODs and other departmental officers/ officials participated on the International Day of Yoga 2022. On the occasion, students from various schools also participated at all the sub -divisions.
Various asanas were performed during the International Day of Yoga.
