Implementing Support agency (ISA) Zanskar subdivision under Public Health and Engineering Department, Kargil Ladakh today held Jal Jeevan Mission awareness program on “Water Saving and Judicial Use of Water” at GMD College Zanskar.
The aim of the program was to aware students about JJM. The JJM is a flagship program of the Government of India envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water connections to individual households by 2024 in all rural areas.
On the occasion, Lobzang Norboo Coordinator ISI emphasized on students for their role in creating awareness about the JJM.
He said the success of JJM will be based on community approach and therefore, extensive information, education and communication will be key components of the mission.
Mohd Ishaq Assistant Professor while addressing the students stressed on the importance of water resources, quality parameters indexing and advised to make judicious use of water.
A quiz competition was also conducted as a part of the awareness program wherein 15 students participated. Later, during the prize distribution ceremony top three students were given prizes for their best performance in the program.
