CEC attends founding anniversary of TCV School Ladakh
Leh, Sep 12: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson presided over the 47th founding anniversary of Tibetan SOS Children’s village school, Ladakh in Leh today.
Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurbu, Councillor Korzok, Karma Namdak, CEO Leh, S.D Namgyal, CRO Tibetan Settlement Ladakh, Dhondup Tashi, Director TCV, Tenzin Rabten, Principal TCV, Lhundup Namgyal, Head of all schools of Leh town, and the staff and students of TCV SOS School Ladakh attended the ceremonial function.
CEC Tashi Gyalson declared the 41st Inter-House Athletics Meet, open and took the salute of the marching contingent of the school. The programme was followed by a vibrant cultural performance and showcase of drill and callisthenic display by the students.
In his address, CEC Gyalson praised the founder of TCV schools, Ama Jetsun Pema (sister of H.H the 14th Dalai Lama) and highlighted that TCV school have been taking utmost care of Tibetan children and been producing the finest graduates to date. He appreciated that TCV School, Ladakh have managed to bridge the gap between govt. and private schools of Leh by providing quality education to economically challenged children belonging to far-flung regions of Ladakh. He further assured to assist in all ways possible to address any grievances of the school.
The Chief Guest, CEC Tashi Gyalson felicitated school toppers and winners of co-curricular activities. He also presented service awards to deserving staff of TCV.
As informed, the graduating batch of the year 1996 attended the function as special guests and was felicitated for their contribution to the welfare of the school.
