CEC, DC, SP pay homage to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali at Yakza Umba
Kargil, October 20, 2022: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today attended the renaming ceremony of Government High School Yakza Umba which has been renamed as Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali High School.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Superintendent of Police, Anayat Ali Choudhary, SDM Sankoo, CEO Kargil, BDO Taisuru, BMO, Tehsildar Sankoo, faculty members of the school, villagers and other concerned officers attended the event.
On the occasion, the CEC appreciated faculty members of the school for maintaining the school well and for utilizing funds for better education. He also appreciated the role of the police in renaming the school as Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali High School.
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali was martyred at Gowkadal, Srinagar in a grenade attack in 2009. While paying tributes to the martyr, CEC assured to make the institute an example in the district in terms of quality education and infrastructure development.
Khan said LAHDC Kargil and District Administration will provide all possible help to the family of the martyr and his sacrifice will be remembered forever.
Sarpanch Umba submitted a memorandum of demands to the CEC to which he assured to provide a physical education teacher for the school at the earliest. Khan also assured for suitable follow-up of other demands as well.
At the event, the police also provided heating and sports items to the school as a token of love and appreciation. Earlier, all the guests paid rich tribute to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali.
