CEC Kargil inaugurates newly constructed Zanskar Sarai in Leh
Kargil, July 10, 2023: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated the newly constructed Zanskar Sarai at Leh, in the presence of Executive Councilor RD, Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, Councilor Cha Constituency, Stanzin Lakpa, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani and President, ZBA, Paksang Lawang.
The ceremony began with the lighting of butter lamp by the chief guest. The CEC on behalf of the Council congratulated people of Zanskar for the timely completion of the additional block of Zanskar Sarai in Leh and informed that the building had been in the district plan of 4th LAHDC Kargil.
He stressed that accommodation is much needed for people coming into the city for any purpose be it business, education, and medical aid.
Additionally, he mentioned about all the ongoing and completed projects of Kargil Council. Further, he appreciated the efforts of Zanskar Social Welfare Society (ZSWS) Leh for their tireless and selfless service for the welfare of people of Zanskar. He assured of Council’s support and fulfilment of other demands put forth by the society.
EC Tashi expressed gratitude for the support provided by CEC for the completion of the building. He also stressed that the Sarai will be beneficial for the people of Zanskar coming to Leh.
He also requested the CEC for the construction of a mortuary in the compound as it is of utmost importance. He further expressed his gratitude to the ZSWS, engineers, and contractors etc. for the timely completion of the building.
ADC, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din and Zanskar Buddhist Association (ZBA), President, Paksang Lawang also congratulated the people of Zanskar for the completion of the building, which will be beneficial for them in the long run.
Earlier, President ZSWS Leh, Dr Tsewang Yangjor welcomed the guests and briefed them about the organization in detail, adding that the main aim of the society is for the welfare of the people of Zanskar coming to Leh. He further expressed his gratitude for the support given by CEC and hoped for continuous support in the future.
Councilor, Cha constituency, Stanzin Lakpa, presented the vote of thanks. As a member of ZSWS, he expressed his happiness over the construction of the Sarai and added the contribution of members and everyone involved in completion of the building.
He further expressed his gratitude to CEC Kargil and appreciated his dynamic leadership in the development of the region.
The ceremony also consisted cultural performances by Zanksar Ama Tsogspa and student group of Zanskar (CIBS) Leh.
