DC Kargil takes stock of healthcare infrastructure, medicare facilities, COVID-19 preparedness at Sankoo, Shakar Chiktan

Listens to grievances, developmental needs of locals

In order to take stock of COVID-19 related preparedness and status of healthcare infrastructure and medicare facilities being provided to patients at the health centers, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve visited different healthcare institutions of Sankoo and Shakar Chiktan Sub Divisions here today.

At TSG Block, DC Santosh Sukhadeve visited the NTPHC Tambis besides the Medical Sub Centre and 20 bedded under construction special hospital at Gond Mangalpore.

While interacting with the Healthcare Workers, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the status of vaccination, testing facilities and other Covid related infrastructure and healthcare facilities and directed the health personnel to make sure zero wastage of vaccines and further speed up the pace of vaccination.

While taking stock of the pace of progress achieved on the 20 bedded special hospital at Gond Mangalpore, DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the concerned officers to complete the remaining infrastructure within 2 weeks time.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo and directed the concerned officers to ensure completion of vaccination in case of the left out beneficiaries under the 60 plus and 45 plus age group in a timely manner besides also taking due care that no wastage of vaccines occurs.

Later, the DC Kargil also visited different healthcare institutions at Shakar Chiktan Sub Division including the Primary Health Center Shargole where he inquired from the officers concerned about the progress of vaccination achieved in different age groups, testing and other aspects. He also inspected different wards and sections of the PHC and took stock of the infrastructure and logistics related to the healthcare and facilities related to COVID-19.

At Chiktan, DC Santosh Sukhadeve visited the newly constructed building of CHC Chiktan and Covid Care Centre Chiktan.

While inspecting the 3-storey new CHC building, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that almost all required works on the ground floor have been completed and it will be made functional soon where a 30 bedded Covid care facility will be created. It was further given out that for water supply submersible pumps have been installed adding that the hospital and the Covid Care Centre will have the total capacity to treat 60 patients at a time.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the officers of R&B-II and Health Department Kargil to ensure completion of all remaining works of the new CHC building before the end of this year.

While inquiring from the officers concerned about the pace of progress achieved on vaccination, the DC Santosh Sukhadeve stressed on fast pacing the process so as to complete the COVID-19 vaccination of different categories of beneficiaries in a time bound manner.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with several public representatives, PRI members and individuals at Sankoo and Shakar Chiktan who apprised him about their grievances, issues and developmental needs.

After giving a patient hearing to people’s grievances, DC Santosh Sukhadeve assured them that appropriate measures will be taken to address the issues in a phased manner.

SDM Shakar Chiktan Kacho Asgar Ali Khan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division (SVD) Sankoo Shabir Hussain, Executive Engineer R&B-II Kacho Mehmood Ali Khan,Tehsildar Sankoo besides other concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the tour.
