Dhata Nomadic Festival celebrated in Changthang

Leh, August 14: Dhata Nomadic Festival was celebrated in Phobrang, Urgo and Lukung villages headed by the Sarpanch and Goba.

This year Culture Academy Leh supported the villagers to strengthen and revive many traditions.

On Nyangchang, the first day of Duschod, Youth Association organised an archery tournament where many teams from Durbuk Block participated.

Councillor Chushul, Konchok Stanzin was the chief guest. He encouraged the youth to continue such tournaments in the future and assured all the possible support. Also, sub-divisional level officers including Tehsildar, BMO, SHO, and ARC attended the festival.

On the second day, the main day of Dhuschod (Thomchen) Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh Tsering Angchuk, Executive Councilllor, Tashi Yakzee area councillor Konchok Stanzin, Nominated Councillor, Ven Konchok Tsephel, and officers from Army, ITBF were present during the festival.

Also, the festival saw early prayers, horse racing and traditional activities.

Later, the villagers headed by Sarpanches and Goba extended thanks to the Deputy Secretary of Culture Academy, Tsewang Paljor for extending support.
