GDC Kargil organizes walkathon to observe World Bicycle Day
Kargil, June 03, 2023: The NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Kargil today organized a walkathon/run to observe World Bicycle Day under the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Mission Life Campaign from June 01 to June 05, 2023.
The walkathon was organized to generate awareness and build interest of community to avert excessive use of vehicles that leads to carbon emission, climate change and global warming.
The event was aimed at popularizing the use of cycles and adopt walks as an option to promote healthier lifestyles while celebrating and cherishing the spirit of freedom struggle.
The participants were exhorted to disseminate awareness among their family and friends about the advantages of cycling and walking.
