‘Good Governance Week’: District Administration Kargil takes action after video of Wolf Trap Shakar Chiktan surfaces on social media

Kargil, Dec 22, 2022:

During the celebration of the ‘Good Governance Week’, being observed across Kargil district under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), themed “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur”, District Administration Kargil today took note of a video uploaded by a YouTuber on social media regarding the condition and preservation of Wolf Trap (Shang Dong) at Shakar Chiktan subdivision.

While taking note of the video, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve directed SDM Shakar Chiktan, Mohd Sharif to inquire the matter and take action.

Following the direction of DC Kargil, the SDM swung in to action and called on the BDO and JE of the Rural Development Department and visited the site.

SDM directed the BDO to estimate the cost for preservation of the Wolf Trap. Tehsildar Shakar Chiktan has been directed to prepare the revenue records for the same accordingly.

It was informed that a detailed history of the Wolf Trap shall be collected by the SDM and a comprehensive report will be submitted to DC Kargil for further action.
