Inspects Covid preparedness & developmental activities in several villages
Leh, May 30: Member of Parliament (MP), Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, visited several villages and inspected developmental activities at the culmination of his extensive ten-day tour to the Zanskar sub-division.
On Friday, MP Ladakh, Namgyal, inspected Covid facilities, including medicines, isolation and quarantine centres, provided by the Zanskar Administration to the labourers of the Border Road Organisation (BRO) at Zangla. He lauded the efforts of the Zanskar Administration and ensured that the local community is not at risk from the infection. He also appreciated the volunteers from the local community for collecting and distributing essentials such as food and clothing to these labourers.
MP Ladakh also met representatives of villages such as Tsazar, Zangla and heard their grievances. MP Ladakh inspected the progress of the irrigation canal built for the assistance of the villagers at Pishu. Similarly, MP Ladakh directed the Power Development Department (PDD), Kargil, to resolve the electricity issues at the earliest at Tsazar village.
MP Ladakh kicked off the works at three different locations in Lingshed Rong, Upper Neyraks and Lower Neyraks on the strategic Nimoo-Padum-Darcha road while returning to Leh. MP Ladakh informed that the construction at the uncut portion between Lingshed Rong and Neyraks is expected to be completed in the summer. It would reduce the travel time by 40 km. He further inspected the work carried out by BRO at Neyraks towards Zanskar and Chilling.
Meanwhile, MP Ladakh visited and met the representative of several villages, including Linghsed, Skumpata Gongma, Skumpata Yokma, Neyraks, Yulchungs, Photoksar, Hanupata and took stock of their Covid-19 preparedness and other developmental activities of these villages.
MP Ladakh visited and inspected the Covid-19 screening point at the Khaltse sub-division. He appreciated the medical staff and other officials present there for discharging their night duties. The concerned officials apprised MP Ladakh of issues such as loopholes/leakages in Covid checking at Meenamarg, which resulted in the spread of Covid positive cases in Leh, has been resolved after his intervention.
