Registrar UoL, Prof. Ashok K. Sharma visits Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar

Kargil, July 31, 2023: Registrar, University of Ladakh (UoL), Prof. Ashok Kumar Sharma today visited Government Model Degree College Zanskar on his maiden tour to Zanskar.

Mohd Ishaq and faculty members extended a warm welcome to the Registrar, presenting him with traditional khataks. During the meeting, Ishaq briefed the Registrar about the college’s ongoing projects and extensive array of learning resources accessible to students.

Prof. Ashok toured various ongoing project sites, including the Sports Complex, Boys and Girls Hostel, Staff Quarters, and Science Block. Furthermore, he explored the college’s library, gymnasium, classrooms, computer lab, and laboratory.

The Registrar expressed his admiration for the college’s extensive range of learning resources, which left a positive and lasting impression on him.

Prof. Ashok inaugurated intra-mural table tennis tournament for men’s and women’s singles and doubles games and had a productive interaction with the college’s faculty and students.

As part of the visit, Registrar Prof. Ashok delivered a special lecture titled “Nano-Science: An Introduction to ‘A Different Kind of Small’.”

He gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on nano-science, elucidating how the properties of materials undergo significant changes when their particle size enters the nano-range.

During the lecture, Prof. Ashok emphasized that nano-science has revolutionized every aspect of the world, including fields like security and health.

He highlighted that nations equipped with advanced technology in nano-science will be at the forefront, leading the way in shaping the future of the world.

The students of the college presented a captivating cultural program to commemorate the occasion. The proceedings of event were conducted by Dr Jamphel while Mustafa, the College Director of Sports, presented vote of thanks.
