SDM Zanskar visits Lakhang to review snow clearance work of Shinkula Pass

Kargil, Feb 28, 2023: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay along with Station House Officer Zanskar, Dorjay Gyalson on Monday visited Lakhang the base of Shinkula pass to review the progress of snow clearance of Shinkula Pass and road of Padum-Darcha.

The site JE of 126 RCC Rajat Gaur informed the SDM that the snow clearance work up to Shinkula will be completed by the end of this week if the weather remains favourable.

The SDM also contacted with the incharge OC of snow clearance at Darcha who assured the SDM to open the Padum-Darcha road for vehicular movement within ten days if the weather remains favourable.

On the way back to Padum, the SDM also disbursed an amount of Rs 9,44,325 as drought relief at Tangze, Marling, Cha and Itcher villages of Lungnak Block.

The drought relief was distributed among 84 beneficiaries after proper verification of all relevant documents by the committee constituted to assess drought-affected areas.

Later, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to District and local Administration for sanctioning relief amount in favour of drought-affected villages.
