Zonal Level Science, Mathematics, Environment Exhibition held at GHSS Sankoo, Kargil

KARGIL, May 11: The Zonal Level Science, Mathematics, Environment Exhibition was hosted and organised by Aga Syed Hyder Rizvi Memorial (ASHRM) Government Higher Secondary School Sankoo on Friday.

Principal,GHSS Sankoo,Headmasters, teachers, students, of various schools of Sankoo Zone besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

The model exhibition of the session was examined and evaluated by three jurey members were included, Dr Abid Hussain Assistant Professor Zoology, and Manzoor Ahmad Bhat of Degree College Sankoo and one lecture from Biama Higher Secondary School were the judge’s of the science exhibition event.

The Zonal-level Science exhibition focused on different themes and was adjudged accordingly after a detailed review by the panel of judges.

The main theme of this year is “Technology and Toys “pertaining to the sub-themes Advancement in Information and Communication Technology,Eco Friendly Material,Health and Cleanliness,

Transport and innovation,Environmental Concern,Historical Development with current innovation and Mathematics for us

A total of 04 Higher Secondary Schools,and 11 Government High Schools including two private institutions Mutaharry Public High School Saliskote and Noon Public High School Sankoo Zone participated in the exhibition and and showcased their science models.

Out of the Seven specified Sub-Themes the students showcased 18 models under five sub-themes.

In the Sub-Theme “Eco-Friendly material” Government Higher Secondary School Trespone,Government High School Sankoo and NPHS Sankoo secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the Sub-Theme “Mathematics for Us” Government High School GMPore, Public High School,Saliskote,and Government High School Sangra secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the Sub-Theme “Environmental Concern” HS Tambis,HS Thasgam and HS Bartoo secured 1st ,2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the Sub-Theme “Advancement in information and Communication technology” Government Higher Secondary School Lankerchey secured 1st position. In the Sub-Theme “Health and Cleanliness” HSS Trespone and NPHS Sankoo secured 1st and 2nd positions respectively.

The top three positions in each theme shall be forwarded to CEO Kargil for further consideration for participation in the District Level Science,Mathematics and Environment Exhibition.

In this regard,a valedictory function was held.the programme began with the welcome speech from Sajad Ali ,lecturer English Department.

Yousuf Ali Lecturer Biochemistry (State Coordinator RBVP) briefed about the significance of the exhibition.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed among the students of position holding schools and certificate of participation were distributed among all the Participants.

Since 11 May is observed as National Technology Day, Jafar Khan Lecturer Physics gave a full talk on the theme of the year i.e “School to startups-Igniting young minds to innovate”.

On this occasion Principal of the institution in his speech appreciated and encouraged all the participating students and the escort teachers for their efforts in showcasing their hidden innovative ideas in the form of models.

He appreciated the efforts of teachers in conceptualising the models for the display. He urged students to focus on innovative ideas.

The overall day long programme was managed by Mr. Mohd Akbar Master.
