CEC Kargil chairs meeting to finalise action plan of departments under subsidy component for the year 2021-2022

KARGIL, MAY 28, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan chaired a meeting to finalize the action plan of various departments under subsidy component for the financial year 2021-2022 at Council Secretariat here today.

Executive Councilor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Hassan Armaan Mosavi, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Controller Finance, LAHDC, Kargil/Nodal Officer Subsidy Component Showkat Ali Rather, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Dr Iftikhar Hussain, District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Muhammad Ismail, Chief Agriculture Officer Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, Chief Horticulture Officer Ali Reza, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Dr Zakir Hussain, Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahmad Khan, Assistant Director Tourism Aga Syed Toha, District Superintendent Handloom Ansar Hussain Wazir, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan said that the subsidy component is a beneficiary oriented scheme which will boost the economy of the people in the district living below the poverty line.

He further said that the procurement lists have been framed in line with the demands made by the Councilors as per their requirements adding he said that the items and equipments that have not been demanded by the Councilors but required by the departments will be provided from the reserves.

The CEC also approved the action plan of the concerned departments which have been prepared on the recommendation of the Councillors, and authorized the officers to go ahead for purchase of the different items and equipments as proposed in the procurement lists.

Meanwhile, DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve instructed the concerned officers to make best and effective use of the subsidy schemes and to procure such items and equipments with potential to give maximum benefit to the beneficiaries.

The officers of the concerned departments apprised the CEC about different equipments and items proposed to be procured under the subsidy component including the establishment of sheep board units, procurement and distribution of feed and other necessary equipments, provision to protect livestock from attacks of wild animals, establishment of single cow dairy units, tagging of livestock, purchase of livestock cattle, purchase of cow, and establishment of breeding poultry units in case of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry sectors.

The officers of Agriculture and Horticulture briefed about the procurement and distribution of vegetable hybrid seeds, tools, UV films, polycarbonate seeds, vending cards, pre-fabricated UV film structures, seed storage bins, fencing of kitchen gardens and other necessary items and equipments, supply of pesticides, cosmetic equipments for fruits, replacement of UV films of old green house structures and improved cultivators for fruit plants, etc.

The concerned officers of the Fisheries department briefed about trout farming, trout rearing units, distribution of seeds and feeds and other required products in the departments while the officers of Handloom department briefed about procurement of raw materials, tailoring tables, iron boxes, raw materials of wool and pashmina, flush shuttle handloom and their distribution among self help groups and other related aspects.

Similarly, the Project Director KREDA briefed about procurement of solar street lights and other required equipments while the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives and DYSSO Kargil informed about the procurement of bio-fertilizers and equipments for winter sports like ice hockey shoes, archery set etc.

Pertinently, an amount of Rs 25 crores was approved by the UT Ladakh under the Subsidy Component for Kargil District for the year 2021-2022 and kept at the disposal of the LAHDC, Kargil.
