Free UPSC Civil Services coaching centre inaugurated at Kargil Campus UOL
KARGIL, August 17, 2022: University of Ladakh (UoL) in collaboration with Central Waqf Council Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, today inaugurated a free UPSC civil services coaching centre at Kargil Campus UoL.
On the occasion Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan was the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor University of Ladakh Prof. S.K Mehta, Secretary Central Waqf Board, Ministry of Minority Affairs Muhammad Shaban Zeb Khan (who joined through virtual mode), Joint Director Information Department UT Ladakh Imteeaz Kacho, Rector Kargil Campus University of Ladakh Kaneez Fatima, Councilor Saliskote Constituency Aga Syed Hassan Arman other officers, faculty members and students were present during the occasion.
In his address, CEC Khan hailed the efforts of Rector Kargil Campus Kaneez Fatima and her team for their efforts for successfully organizing the free UPSC coaching for the aspirants.
Khan said over the past three years, the Kargil Campus UoL under the supervision of Fatima is witnessing a positive development which will ultimately enhance the academics.
The CEC also congratulated students, faculty and staff members of the campus for getting the opportunity to study for countryโs most prestigious services examination.
He said, in todayโs technologically advanced era getting resources for studies has become easier adding that while studying in Kargil one can easily prepare for the exam.
Khan stressed upon students to keep themselves motivated throughout the journey of UPSC as it is time consuming and difficult too. The CEC suggested students that besides preparing the exam they should also read interviews of UPSC qualifiers to keep themselves motivated.
CEC Khan requested all the UPSC aspirants to work hard and get good results so that they are able to run this center for a long time.
Khan extended his support and said LAHDC Kargil and district administration is committed to support at all levels to successfully run the center for the benefit of aspirants.
While speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor University of Ladakh Prof. S.K Mehta hoped that many students will come out of this coaching center as future civil servants.
He appreciated the fair process of selection of students who will be get free UPSC civil service coaching.
Prof. Mehta also informed that around 109 students submitted the application forms out of which 95 appeared in the exam and around 25 students were selected in the first list adding that in the second list, 5 more students were selected.
Secretary Central Waqf Board, Ministry of Minority Affairs Muhammad Shaban Zeb Khan, who joined through virtual mode, also shared his experience for UPSC Civil Services exam.
He stressed upon students to be positive and work hard during preparation. He also said the national competitive examination is a tough journey and hard work is a key to make it.
Joint Director Information Department UT Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho while sharing his experience advised the students to be consistent and self-motivated. He also shared some important tips with the students regarding the preparation of the civil service exam.
Earlier, while welcoming the guests, faculty members and students, Rector Kaneez Fatima thanked all stakeholders for successfully organizing the inaugural session of free UPSC civil services coaching.
Terming the inauguration of free UPSC coaching center a historic and progressive step in the district, she said students especially coming from the marginalized section of society will get maximum benefit out of this free coaching.
Fatima said in near future many students from this coaching centre will join the prestigious civil services of the country. She thanked Central Waqf Board, Ministry of Minority Affairs, LAHDC and District Administration Kargil for their support in executing the idea.
